      API 5500 è progettato per applicazioni di recording, mixing e mastering, l’API 5500, montabile a rack nello spazio di una sola unità, è un EQ a due canali costruito con un circuito di segnale all-discrete che combina le classiche caratteristiche del modulo a quattro bande API 550B, il boost e la precisione di taglio del 550D e dell’EQ per mastering 550M.
      Ogni canale dell’API 5500 dispone di quattro bande di equalizzazione indipendenti – Bassi, Medio-Bassi, Medio-Alti, e Alti -che coprendono una gamma di frequenza che va da 30Hz a 20kHz. Le quattro bande lavorano su ogni canale in combinazione con un controllo di range che offre tre scelte di settaggio di boost e cut: i settaggi standard API /- 2dB, /- 1dB e /- 0,5dB. L’unità, autoalimentata, è costruita secondo i precisi standard qualitativi di API.
