      Preamp microfonico a 2 canali in formato 2U. Il progettista Vic Keary di Thermionic ha dichiarato che il design finale a bassa rumorosità e completamente valvolare dello Snow Petrel è stato sviluppato con il contributo creativo di Brian Sowter di Sowter Transformers, di Tim Vine-Lott (ex direttore tecnico degli AIR Studios) e di Colin Beanland, proprietario di Coles Electroacoustics. Questi hanno collaborato attivamente al perfezionamento dell’apparecchio in modo che potesse suonare al meglio anche con microfoni a nastro come il classico Coles 4038. Il design finale incorpora alimentazione phantom 48 V, un controllo Air EQ, oltre a due tipi di attenuazione (prima e dopo lo stadio di uscita). Snow Petrel raggiunge risultati eccezionali in coppia con microfoni a nastro ma può essere regolato per essere usato al meglio anche con microfoni ad alto gain.
