Drawmer 1977 Channel Strip
If you’re interested in giving your recordings a vintage, analog feel, then the 1977 is the channel strip for you. Considered Drawmer’s most comprehensive channel strip to date, the 1977 offers a range of features, including an ultra clean preamplifier, a precise three-band parametric equaliser, a soft knee compressor for added silkiness, and the ability to add warmth via three types of variable harmonic saturation. The preamplifier alone offers a range of benefits, combining mic, line, and instrument D.I. with 66dB of stepped gain. This allows for ultra clean, transparent, and precise recordings, while also offering the ability to sweeten up dull audio or perfect your guitar sound. Additionally, the 1977 offers mic matching via switched impedance, which brings out the best in every mic in your studio, whether it’s high end, ribbon, or even a dull mic. You’ll be able to find the sweet spot for any mic.
The 1977 channel strip offers a true ‘parametric’ equalizer, providing three bands of fully variable frequency control and cut/boost of +/-12dB. Additionally, it has a fully variable bandwidth control for the mid band, making it extremely flexible. Whether you need to make subtle adjustments or sculpt the tone of problematic recordings, the 1977 can handle it all and anything in between.
The 1977’s compressor section is full-featured, allowing you to control the dynamics of your recordings. Drawmer’s signature ‘Big’ and ‘Air’ modes help preserve the deep lows and enhance the sparkling highs that other compressors tend to remove. Moreover, the compressor incorporates variable harmonic saturation with three different styles, giving you precise control over warming up your recordings.
In the output section, you’ll find a wet/dry mix for parallel processing. This allows you to easily adjust the amount of EQ and compression used with just one knob. The 1977 also features an output fade control, which can be used for adding fade outs or boosting the level to match the input levels of high-end audio interfaces. Additionally, there’s a large backlit VU meter for accurate monitoring.
With all of these features combined, the 1977 offers a modern take on vintage gear, giving you extensive control over the clarity, tone, and warmth of your recordings. It’s designed to help you capture perfect audio every time.
