Pearl CC 22 Condenser Microphone
The Pearl CC22 Condenser Microphone, Pearl’s most popular microphone, is designed for Studio and Live applications. This microphone is a cardioid without any switches. The CC22 uses the classic Pearl large rectangular dual membrane capsule, which unlike the common type of round, large-diaphragm condensers, Pearl’s unique rectangular membrane capsule gives a very flat frequency response. As a result, CC22 sounds extremely natural and uncolored to the ear, which makes it an excellent choice for capturing the nuances and timbre of Vocals, acoustic guitar, string sections, woodwind, percussion… the list of typical CC 22 usage is almost endless.
The sound of the CC22 is further enhanced by the use of a transformerless preamplifier circuit which is extremely quiet. The circuit requires 48V phantom power. By using the rectangular capsule, the CC22 achieves a very flat and resonance-free frequency response which extends far into the lower frequencies. For sound engineers who ask for a microphone which works up to at least 25 kHz this is a microphone you will be happy with.
The CC22 is the cardioid sister in the 22 family and probably the model you’ll find most useful in most situations. Its 30mm diameter, side access design often makes it possible to capture sound where traditional condensers simply won’t fit. The Pearl CC22H (H – for HIGH Output) uses the same microphone capsule, but features a preamplifier that has an output of about 15dB higher than conventional microphones.
Besides using the CC22 as a mono microphone, it can also be used in a pair for XY stereo or as the cardioid element in an MS stereo setup.
The CC22 is finished in piano black ED lacquer with a yellow logo, ring and engraved model number.
