APS Coax 2 Coaxial Driver Active Studio Monitors (Pair)
The APS COAX 2 has been designed and developed to deliver complete accuracy within the stereo field, providing exceptional clarity of detail and a wonderfully open soundstage. Thanks to its coaxial driver design, the Coax 2 exhibits a wide sweet spot and extremely natural soundstage, allowing engineers to hone in on source material and isolate vocals and instruments as well as problematic areas of a mix with pinpoint accuracy.
The APS Coax 2 utilises a closed-cabinet design, providing precise and punchy lows that remain controlled and well-defined even at higher volumes. The Coax2 implements Class A/B amplification, combining the power of Class A amplification with the energy efficiency of Class B amplification for dynamic performance which preserves the fidelity and character of the original source material without sounding sterile or unpleasantly ‘sterile’.
The APS Coax2 exhibits the same stellar build-quality and engineering that APS are known for. The design is simple in principle; on the front we have the coaxial driver/horn tweeter combination, providing a linear response throughout the frequency range, from 80Hz – 20kHz, respectively. The fabric demo horn tweeter offers excellent detailing and wide dispersion without sounding harsh, ensuring every transient is translated dynamically and accurately. A small LED indicator gives peak overload feedback, turning red when the speakers are pushed into distortion.
On the rear panel you have balanced I/O via XLR, as well as three dials that offer further adjustment possibilities; a tweeter level adjustment, volume adjustment, and a switch for solving any ground loop issues. An extension link is also provided should you need to pair the Coax2 with a sub.
