The 1073SPX-D is a versatile audio interface that combines a complete 1073 channel strip with a digital audio interface. It offers nine inputs (one analog and eight ADAT) and twelve outputs (four analog and eight ADAT), making it suitable for studios, live sound setups, and mobile recordings. The unit’s USB and ADAT connections allow for easy integration with DAWs, providing a one-stop solution for recording, mixing, and monitoring. With its expandable I/O capabilities, the 1073SPX-D can serve as the central hub for all studio tools.
The device features an innovative USB digital interface with class-compliant drivers, offering a simple plug-and-play setup. It can be connected directly to a computer via USB, allowing access to all the unit’s analog features from the preferred DAW. The ADAT input and output ports can operate in two modes: USB/ADAT hub mode allows for connection of additional units, expanding the recording, mixing, and monitoring capabilities, while ADAT Audio Expander mode enables the 1073SPX-D to function as a standalone ADAT expander, integrating the complete 1073 channel strip into an existing audio interface setup.
The unit can be used as a hardware insert, routing tracks through its analog circuitry and returning the processed signal to the DAW via USB or ADAT. It also provides monitoring controls and connections for direct connection of studio loudspeakers and headphones.
The 1073SPX-D retains the classic 1073 sound by utilizing discrete, class-A topology and exclusive Marinair transformers. It features a three-band inductor-based EQ designed to enhance sound quality across the frequency spectrum. The unit offers a range of analog I/O options, including switchable front and rear connections, a balanced insert send and return loop, and a rotary output fader for total control over the output signal.
