Smart subwoofers are build upon the proven Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE™) technology.  SAM subwoofers deliver articulate, precise low frequency reproduction with high dynamic capability. A smart subwoofer includes a multichannel bass management system, offering adjustable crossover frequency to the main monitor system.
Smart subwoofers are controlled using Genelec’s proprietary network and software for loudspeaker management (GLM™). The GLM software contains automated acoustic calibration GLM AutoCal™. This is the industry’s first integrated monitoring setup calibration for fully automated measurement, acoustic response analysis, and adjustment of every monitor and subwoofer individually.
The quality of the room acoustic design is the basis for accurate sound reproduction. In acoustically compromised rooms,  Genelec’s intelligent GLM AutoCal™ technology is able to improve the precision of monitoring  by compensating deficiencies in the listening environment. Room resonance effects in subwoofers frequencies can be very significant even in acoustically high quality rooms.  After automated calibration, all components in the system play back at the same level, acoustical colorations in subwoofers have been removed by equalization, and subwoofers have been aligned in phase with their reference monitors.
In acoustically compromised rooms,  Genelec’s intelligent AutoCal™ technology is able to improve the precision of monitoring.
