API ASM164 Rackmount Analog Summing Mixer
The API ASM164 is a high-performance 16-channel analog summing mixer designed in a convenient 19-inch rack format. Built upon API’s rich legacy of top-tier recording consoles and inspired by the summing section of THE BOX console, the API ASM164 is tailored for professional project studios, home studios, and production facilities of all kinds. It is engineered to deliver the legendary API sound in a compact, efficient, and cost-effective format.
The API ASM164 features 16 analog summing channels with balanced line-level DB-25 connectors. It includes a global channel level control bypass at 0dB and is equipped with API’s exclusive 2510 operational amplifiers on the inputs. Each channel has an insert send/return, while practical 4-segment LEDs clearly display audio levels on all channels. It includes two stereo program bus outputs, Mix-A and Mix-B, and each channel can be assigned to Mix-A, Mix-B, or both.
The front panel of the API ASM164 offers continuously variable panning control with a center detent and a 31-step level control with detents. The balanced external stereo input can be assigned to Mix-A and/or Mix-B. On the output side, the ASM164 utilizes the iconic API 2520 operational amplifiers and proprietary output transformers, delivering the classic, renowned API sound loved by top engineers and music producers worldwide for over half a century.
The rear panel of the API ASM164 provides comprehensive connections with balanced inputs and outputs, and the external power supply allows for greater flexibility and noise reduction.
